Chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia participated in the work and meetings of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries

The Chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, Ms. Marika Gogoladze participated in the work and meetings of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries held in Cancun, Mexico on November 8-11, 2017. The terrorism and corruption issues were the main topics of the meeting.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia presented a written report which focused on increasing the availability of notary services on the whole territory of Georgia and involvement of mediator notaries in the state project of initial registration of lands.

The Chairman of the Notary Chamber of Georgia held meetings with the President of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, Mr. Marius Stračkaitis, the representatives of the Notariat of Ukraine and active President of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union, Mr. José Manuel García Collantes, as well as the representative of International Institute of Higher Notarial Studies – IHN, Mr. Roland Niklaus. They discussed the future cooperation at the meetings and planned the specific activities.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia became a member of the International Union of Notaries since 2007. Georgia was declared as one of the active Member States of the Union at the 6th Plenary Session of the European Commission of the European Union of Notaries in 2016.

The Notary Chamber of Georgia regularly participates in the international meetings and conferences, considers the recommendations of the Union of Latin Notaries and hosts the international conferences.

In May 2017, the Notary Chamber of Georgia received from the International Union of Notaries the highest assessment for the implemented reforms at the meeting of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries held in Tbilisi.

The Notary, Mr. Davit Okroshidze also attended the Meeting of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries in Cancun. He is a member of the General Council of the International Union of Notaries.
