A Declaration was adopted at the International Conference of Notaries

The International Conference of Notaries that was opened by the Minister of Justice of Georgia yesterday has continued in the Hotel “Holiday Inn Tbilisi” today. 14 member countries of the International Union of Notaries participated in the conference. The delegates from different European countries (Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Estonia ...) arrived. The conference was dedicated to the social role of the notary. The reporters spoke about the special importance of notary’s as a legal advisor’s duties.

"It’s very important for the Notary Chamber of Georgia to host such large-scale conference and share the experiences of the European countries. The strengthening of the Notary’ duties as a legal advisor will promote to protect the property rights of citizens and raise the legal awareness of the population,"- said the Chairman of the Board of the Notary Chamber of Georgia, Ms. Nino Khoperia.

The Declaration was adopted at the end of conference by requesting the delegate countries to promote the popularization of notaries and strengthen the social role of notaries. The attention was focused in the declaration on the improvement of property rights protection mechanisms of vulnerable persons.

As the Chairman of International Union of Notaries, Daniel Sédar Senghor said the notary has an important role in the European Countries in the regulation of legal relations and it’s desirable if all member countries of Latin Notaries take this recommendation into account.
