ELECTRONIC BASES FOR PROTECTION OF CITIZEN’S SECURITY

The Notary Chamber of Georgia has added one more electronic base: the Electronic Registry of Terrorists and Persons Supporting Terrorism.

The Security Council of the United Nations Organization would deliver the worldwide data on terrorists and persons supporting terrorism to the Governmental Commission of Georgia. Based on the given documents the Civil Court of Georgia arrests the property of terrorists. The Notary Chamber of Georgia obtained these data and registered them the electronic database.

Many countries in the world apply these data to provide security of their citizens.

Many foreigners coming to Georgia appeal to local notaries for performance of a notary act. Correspondingly notaries acting in the territory of Georgia already have a chance to apply the joint electronic database of terrorists and check data of their client.

One of the priorities of the Notary Chamber of Georgia is security of the customers. For the last years the Notary Chamber had inculcated numerous services to secure rights and property of citizens and established an electronic database. The electronic database of persons acknowledged as incapable by the court is made for the same purpose. The data on up to 3600 adults acknowledged as incapable by the court were transferred to the Notary Chamber of Georgia by the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Protection of Georgia. The Ministry had these data in hard copy and employees of the Chamber registered them in the electronic database.

During performance of any notary act the notary checks the ability of the participating party to secure his interests. The check is especially significant for registration of transactions (mortgage, purchase, loan, etc. agreements). Establishment of the given database will significantly simplify notary activity and, respectively, it will simplify securing citizens (including incapable ones) against expected risks.
