Notary Chamber concluded the Memorandum of Cooperation with Humanitarian Teaching University

The Memorandum of Cooperation was concluded between the Notary Chamber of Georgia and Tbilisi Humanitarian Teaching University.

 

The Memorandum was signed by the chairman of the Notary Chamber Ms. Marika Gogoladze and Deputy Rector of Humanitarian Teaching University Ms. Maka Kacharava.

 

This cooperation aims to promote students in gaining quality legal education, to conduct lecture-seminars, to pass practical training in notary chamber and notary offices.

 

Ms. Marika Gogoladze introduced the latest changes made in the notary system to the students of law faculty of Tbilisi Humanitarian Teaching University, namely: since the end of 2012, the Ministry of Justice has actively implemented measures to depoliticize the Notary Corps and their work. New service started from 2013, alternative and modern way of dispute settlement - notary mediation. This service became one of the leading components of land registration reform in 2016. In addition, the electronic database of persons recognized as supporters by the court was established, which is constantly updated. “Online Consultation with Notary” was introduced. From 2014 a citizen can carry out all necessary transactions in the notary office and register his/her real estate in the public registry. The service “Free Phone Legal Advice from Notary” was introduced, the service standards of the Citizens were developed, the rebranding of Notary Chamber was provided, an advertising campaign: “I Trust a Notary” started. In 2015 the notary services in public centers of rural areas started; every newly appointed notary shall be obliged to serve the first 3 years in mountainous or such regions, where the notary service is not properly available. As a result of reforms, notarial services are now available in places where there had never been or for a long period of time. At this stage the Notary Chamber of Georgia continues its action: “Free Legal Advice” for the population of municipalities at this time. The meetings are held in public centers.

 

Notary Chamber of Georgia actively cooperates with Georgian Higher Education Institutions. The students of law faculty from other universities have already passed three-month training practice in notary offices.
